Valentine’s Day Gift Idea – Gifts for a Cause – Make a Difference Monday

Valentine's Day Gift Idea, a gift that Gives Back - I love the idea of giving a gift for a cause! - www.MePlus3Today.com

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links, and I will make a small commission from purchases made via these links. Thanks! As I did my holiday shopping this year, I tried to make an effort to purchase from businesses that give back. I browsed through many gift guides that listed gifts for a cause, like this one from She Lives Free. She also created a round-up of several other gift guides with even more ideas for gifts that give back. Eventually I came across a company called That’s Caring. I ended up buying the muffins and coffee gift box for my mother-in-law from … Continue reading

So, I have to tell you, I’m pretty proud of these snowman hand print thank you cards that I’m sharing here. We started making these DIY cards last winter, but I am just now getting to post about them. I was inspired by these adorable snowman hand prints with the saying “Love Never Melts.” The best thing about these cards is that they were quick and easy to make and only required a few supplies that we already had on hand. I usually take … Continue reading

9 Greeting Cards to Make Your Funny Valentine Smile - www.MePlus3Today.com

This post contains affiliate links. I make a small commission from purchases made via these links. Thanks! Valentine’s Day used to be one of my favorite holidays. I realize that to most people it is just another “Hallmark holiday.” But it’s more than that to me, because it is also my birthday! I’ve always loved having my birthday on Valentine’s Day. It’s not really a major holiday, but it was enough to make my birthday always feel extra special! But since losing Chaz, like all other holidays, it has lost it’s magic. And now it almost feels even worse because it is … Continue reading

“If Opportunity Doesn’t Knock…” – Make a Difference Monday

"If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door." Milton Berle quote - www.MePlus3Today.com

The past week has been ridiculously busy and full of a variety of emotions. Why? Well, I had my last day at my job as an engineer. I was there for nearly 8 years. But really, engineering feels like all I’ve ever known. I decided to be an engineer way back when I was a sophomore in HIGH SCHOOL in order to plan my class schedule to prepare me for college. During my junior year, I took 2 math classes at the same time so that I could take AP Calculus my senior year and head into college with as … Continue reading

1000 Voices Speak for Compassion – Make a Difference Mondays

1000 Voices Speak for Compassion

Within the past week, something incredibly awesome has happened. An amazing new initiative called 1000 Voices Speak for Compassion has begun! This movement began when Yvonne Spence, after reading about so much devastation around the world, put a call out to get 1000 bloggers together to write posts about compassion, kindness, support, caring, and similar topics on the same day. And the response was overwhelming. Within 48 hours of that question, the group was already halfway there! And it continues to grow! As I’m writing, there are now over 800 people taking part in #1000Speak movement. The date has been set for February 20, 2015. I don’t … Continue reading

5 Inspirational Quotes Worth Reading Right Now! – Make a Difference Mondays Link Up

I mentioned this in a previous post, but in the weeks after losing Chaz, I used to spend my evenings reading quotes on Pinterest about death and grief, while sobbing my eyes out the entire time. I don’t know if it was therapeutic for me or if it was just what I needed to do at that time. But either way, that’s what I did! When I told my therapist about it, she said that it was completely fine. There is no “right way” to grieve. And she told me that eventually the quotes I preferred to read would change… … Continue reading

This New Year Join the #DeedADay Movement with 100 Good Deeds

I was gifted a 100 Good Deeds bracelet to review and share with my readers. However, all thoughts and opinions expressed herein are my own. For many, beginning the new year means starting work on new goals and/or resolutions. At least, that’s how it is for me! In a previous post, I mentioned the fact that I am working on making SMART goals this year instead of a typical resolution. I’ve actually been putting a lot of thought in to what I hope to accomplish in 2015, and how I plan to do it. These goals definitely won’t be a … Continue reading
