With my kids going in to kindergarten and preschool, we are playing sight word games and heading to the … Continue reading

Love the reason behind this 31 Days of Gratitude #Gratitoday Photo Challenge and that it's related to Acts of Kindness! Definitely joining in! www.MePlus3Today.com

I’ve been working on completing 32 acts of kindness for Chaz’s 32nd birthday, which is on July 3. I’ll have a blog post soon about how everything turned out, but until then, you can check out the Facebook event here and last year’s series of 31 Acts of Kindness for his 31st birthday here. High 5 Today Campaign – Make a Difference Monday

High 5 Today Campaign - Join this kindness campaign to encourage and empower rather than tear each other down. - www.MePlus3Today.com

For a while, I thought the “mommy wars” were imaginary. That they were actually self-inflicted because we were all being too hard on ourselves. We were comparing ourselves to some nonexistent ideal of the perfect mother. This thought came to me when I noticed that highly shared posts on social media are those about ending the “mommy wars.” Seriously, how many times did you see this Similac commercial in your newsfeed? I also often see posts about the struggles of motherhood and how we can all relate to each other. This led me to think that we really are all on the same team. We are all looking … Continue reading

Somewhere Out There Project – Make a Difference Monday

Random Acts of Kindness Idea - Support the Somewhere Out There Project! I LOVE this idea! Such a neat concept and it wonderful to see someone willing to spread some kindness in the world!

Today kicks off International Random Acts of Kindness Week! This year, the goal is to flood social media with kindness and record 100,000 acts of kindness. As a RAKtivisit, I’m pretty pumped about this week and have a few things up my sleeve to do my part towards that number. One of my random acts of kindness is to share about a project started by fellow RAKtivist. It’s called the “Somewhere Out There Project.” The website says: “The goal of the Somewhere Out There Project is to create a tangible way to share smiles with the world. We create small wood burned … Continue reading

1000 Voices Speak for Compassion – Make a Difference Mondays

1000 Voices Speak for Compassion

Within the past week, something incredibly awesome has happened. An amazing new initiative called 1000 Voices Speak for Compassion has begun! This movement began when Yvonne Spence, after reading about so much devastation around the world, put a call out to get 1000 bloggers together to write posts about compassion, kindness, support, caring, and similar topics on the same day. And the response was overwhelming. Within 48 hours of that question, the group was already halfway there! And it continues to grow! As I’m writing, there are now over 800 people taking part in #1000Speak movement. The date has been set for February 20, 2015. I don’t … Continue reading
